A Mental Masterpiece by Ray Starr!
Effect:
The performer invites a spectator onto the stage to assist him in an experiment.
The spectator is asked to select one deck from two: a red-backed, or a blue-backed deck. The spectator selects the blue-backed deck, which he/she places into his/her pocket for safe-keeping.
Next, the spectator is handed the red-backed deck and instructed to cut and complete their cut as many times as they want.
This is done over and over until the spectator is satisfied that they've cut fairly enough times.
The spectator is asked to show everyone the bottom card, which will be the "Indicator" card. It is (say) the Five of Clubs.
The spectator now deals four cards off the top of the deck and turns over the fifth card.
This card is (say) the Two of Hearts.
The spectator is then asked to remove the blue-backed deck from their pocket, and to remove it from the card-case. They are instructed to spread out the cards until they come to a face-up card amongst the faces-down pack.
It is also the TWO OF HEARTS!

NOTE: The spectator handles BOTH decks at all times. The performer NEVER touches the cards. The cards can be casually spread out at all times throughout the effect.
IDEAS: Instead of a second pack containing the reversed, signed prediction, (perhaps with a different color back?) a prediction can be in an envelope in the form of a jumbo-card, or hand-written, and held by, or sat on by the spectator. This prediction envelope may be in full view throughout the effect. The prediction may come in the form of a revelation, such as with the card (sand) frame, TV-Card Frame, rubbing ashes on one's forearm, etc.
INCLUDES: Video tutorial link containing details for creating the Calcutta-deck, plus ideas and tips for routines. Cards are not included.
