You and your audiences will LOVE this baffling and entertaining, fast-paced feature! Suitable for kids shows or for mixed audiences, this has been a staple of my stage-shows since 1981! I still do this today in all of my appearances!
EFFECT: A receptacle (could be a small plastic cauldron, bucket, top-hat) rests on your table. Sticking out from it is your wand. (Could be a standard magician's wand, or "Harry Potter"/New-Age-type wand, depending on your theme/costume) The volunteer is asked to hold a sponge-ball (which you removed from the receptacle) tightly in their clenched fist. This sponge-ball could be a "clown's nose", "orb", etc. depending, again, on the theme of your show! You remove another sponge-ball which you openly display, openly placing it into your closed, clenched fist. Your other hand gets your wand from the receptacle, and after a few magic passes with it, you open your fist, revealing that the sponge-ball has vanished from your hand! You place your wand back into the receptacle, asking your volunteer to open their clenched fist, and voila, they now have TWO SPONGE BALLS! You openly take these two sponges, placing them into their hand(s), asking them to hold onto them again, tightly, with both hands so that no-one can interfere. You repeat the vanishing of another sponge-ball which you removed from the recepticle, returning your wand to the bucket/hat, etc. The volunteer opens their hands, showing they nopw have THREE SPONGE-BALLS! You offer to reveal how this was done, stating that all along you had an extra sponge-ball (which you openly show, from the receptacle) all along. "So when you thought I gave you one, I actually gave you two, and so forth," you admit. Offering to repeat the effect all over again, you reach into your receptacle and hand the volunteer an "unknown" amount of sponges. You then openly put a "fourth" sponge into your hand, wave your wand, and voila...your sponge has vanished again! Re-capping, you say "First you had one, then two, then three...how many might you have now?" They all scream "FOUR!" You ask the volunteer toopen their hands, revealing they have a jumbo sponge number "4"!
NOTE: This is almost mechanical and self-working; only one sleight and the routine is required, but this will be a feature effect of your shows for the reactions and audience-participation! It's entertaining AND looks like real magic! Perfect for stage or platform, you'll use this!
INCLUDES: The full-color manuscript and routine ONLY...provide your own sponge-balls and the number "4" from "Magic By Gosh", or your favorite magic dealer. Suggestions, tips, subtleties, and additional sponge-ball sleights included.
